IAS Youth Chapter
The IAS Youth Chapter creates a safe community among Iranian American teenagers and young adults. Many times, these teens feel out of place among traditional Americans as well as Iranians; therefore, this community is one that everyone in the group can relate to with their unique experiences.

Additionally, the IAS Youth Chapter aims to create a strong network among all Long Island Iranian Americans. Through sports lessons, tutoring sessions, and music lessons, the teenagers and young adults in the chapter mentor and befriend younger children around them. Also, older members of the Iranian American community hold info sessions regarding college admissions, job advice, and Q&As which expose the youth to opportunities they may not have had otherwise.
Finally, the IAS Youth Chapter aims to spread awareness regarding the Iranian culture through various discussions and teaching sessions. Many times American schools do not teach about Iran in class; therefore, we teach the teenagers and young adults in the chapter about historical figures that have paved the way for them and their families. From Omar Khayyam, to Rumi, to Sedigheh Dolatabadi, we work to educate the teenagers around us.

Meeting with Owner of Joon Haircare Ms. Shiva Tavakoli
2020.07.19 - The Youth Chapter met with Ms. Shiva Tavakoli to hear about her experience creating her own business, marketing her various products, and her advice on entrepreneurship.
Meeting with Restaurant Owner Ms. Nasim Alikhani
2020.07.06 - The members of the Youth Chapter heard from the owner of Sofreh Brooklyn, Ms. Nasim Alikhani, and her experiences as a woman in the restaurant industry, her journey creating her menu and Sofreh's aesthetic, and her inspirations.
Meeting with Actress and Producer Ms. Tara Grammy
2020.06.07 - The Youth Chapter met with Ms. Tara Grammy and her experiences producing her own work, going into acting, and her life as an Iranian.
Meeting with Comedian Mr. Maz Jobrani
2020.05.28 - The Youth Chapter discussed Mr. Maz Jobrani's rise to fame, his experiences as a comedian, and his advice for the younger generation.
Meeting with Bestselling Author Mr. Adib Khorram
2020.04.27 - The Youth Chapter read Mr. Adib Khorram's book Darius the Great is Not Okay and spoke to him regarding his book, their questions, and his personal experiences.
College Seminar
2020.04.24 - The members of the Youth Chapter were joined by Iranian American college students to learn about the college process and to gain support in the confusing process!

First Meeting
2020.04.12 - This was the first time the youth chapter met! Before COVID-19, the Youth Chapter met in person in order to discuss future plans and create a community of young Iranians!
